The B8 is one of a full range of ball valves offered by IndMac in accordance with the API 6D standard. The fully welded body design reduces the number of potential leak paths that can be found in the bolted design. The body welded configuration allows for a considerable reduction in weight, especially if the welded ends version is selected. The B8 valves are well suited for Oil & Gas transmission and distribution systems both onshore and offshore.
Body Construction
The body is made of three forged parts and the all-welded construction minimize leak paths towards environment. The valve being of standard DPE design, tightness of the seating surfaces can be assessed by pressurising the body cavity only, before any repressurisation of the pipeline. A body drain is located in the lowest part of the body cavity and consists of a NPT drain valve with safety plug.
